Things will soon be looking a little different around St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church as we begin
a 3-month project to expand and resurface the Parking Lot on the North side of the Church!
We see this as a necessary step to give us a sufficient amount of parking to allow us to one
day build a new structure on the South side of the Church … whether it turns out to be a larger new Parish Hall or the
beginning of a Parish Grade School.
The scope of our current project will be to widen the roadway behind the Church by taking down
the hill behind the Church and moving the dirt to the north edge of the North Parking Lot to bring the ground up to grade
and expand the Parking Lot almost all the way to the Rectory fence.
The drive lanes behind the Church will then be much wider and safer and we will double the number
of Parking Spaces on a paved parking surface.
If the excavation goes smoothly, we will consider bringing loads of the dirt around to fill in
the ground in front of the Church, thereby raising the grade almost equal to the Church walkway, and providing room for additional
parking.
We should be able to continue to use the North Parking Lot for many weeks until our contractors
are ready to do the final grading and resurfacing of that space.
Please pray for the safety and success of this endeavor!
St. Henry Parish will be next in line for increasing Parking Lot size and paving the parking
surface. Plans have been created for the grading and paving of the existing Parking Lot, which will incorporate drainage and
lighting.
The company beginning work at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church may also want to bid on doing the
work at St. Henry.
As you’re well aware, all of these expansions and improvements take money … in an
ever increasing way. The contractor advised me that the asphalt paving quote just went up $12,000, because asphalt, which
is a petroleum-based product, just experienced its highest price increase ever!
Fortunately we have some money in our Building Fund accounts to move forward with these important
projects. This is the thanks to your good stewardship in giving financially to your Church.
It’s a beautiful system that God has designed … we give to express our gratitude
to God for His many blessings … and then our contributions are there when needed to sustain and expand our facilities!
May God bless us in our projects ahead.
Love, Father Deering
